The American left engages in regular calls for "civility" in political discourse.

 These are in reality thinly veiled calls for the right to restrict its speech, while the left carries on as normal.

The left frequently attempts to blame the right's speech for specific acts of violence committed by other people. Again these are just thinly veiled attempts to restrict the speech of the right, while the left carries on as normal. The irony is that falsely blaming peaceful right-wingers for
violence they had nothing to do with is itself an example of incivil speech.

As if all that hypocrisy wasn't enough, everyone on the right knows that a constant flood of hatred and death threats issues against figures on the right like Bush and Palin. "Civility" is not something the left believes in for itself.
